hope
Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when the desire is fulfilled, it is a tree of life.
Discipline your son while there is hope, but do not [indulge your angry resentments by undue chastisements and] set yourself to his ruin.
Do you see a man wise in his own eyes and conceit? There is more hope for a [self-confident] fool than for him. [Prov. 29:20; Luke 18:11; Rom. 12:16; Rev. 3:17.]
Do you see a man who is hasty in his words? There is more hope for a [self-confident] fool than for him.
So shall you know skillful and godly Wisdom to be thus to your life; if you find it, then shall there be a future and a reward, and your hope and expectation shall not be cut off.
For surely there is a latter end [a future and a reward], and your hope and expectation shall not be cut off.
For there shall be no reward for the evil man; the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.
[There is no exemption] but he who is joined to all the living has hope–for a living dog is better than a dead lion.
But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired. [Heb. 12:1-3.]
The Lord of hosts–regard Him as holy and honor His holy name [by regarding Him as your only hope of safety], and let Him be your fear and let Him be your dread [lest you offend Him by your fear of man and distrust of Him].
